This is a recipe that I remember making for gifts when I was a kid. It is so easy, fun and cheap but looks really impressive and tastes luxurious. They are perfect for a last minute mother’s day gift and cost less than £1.50.
Ingredients
100g chocolate
100ml double cream
18g butter
Toppings: icing sugar, crushed nuts, grated chocolate, cocoa
Method
Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of water.
Bring the cream and butter just to the boil and whisk into chocolate.
Leave the mixture in the fridge for one to two hours.
Form into small balls and roll in toppings. Put back in the fridge to firm.
Tips:
- The longer you leave the mixture the easier it is to work with
- Don’t worry about making perfect rounds, the toppings will cover it
- This is messy just enjoy it!

These sound delicious! Happy Mother’s Day!
